Lyon, France 2009

Homeexchange is a wonderful thing, don't you think? We felt like we had won in the big lottery, when we were able to stay in this beautiful house for many weeks. It has even got a palm in the middle of the pool!

On the left there was an outdoor kitchen / livingroom. Here we could eat all our meals and not be bothered by the sun. Under the roof we could play tabletennis and use the barbecue to make delicious food.

The house was very comfortable with easy access to the garden from many rooms.

The house is north of Lyon, in a place called Cailloux sur Fontaines. It took about 30 minutes to drive into the city. One of the things we enjoy the most in our holidays is to go to the bakery and buy bread, and it was possible from the house.

This is Isabelle's parents. They met us and drove us from the train- station to the house where they showed us around. It was very good tfor us, easy to get started in the house.

Heike and Alva are playing in the pool. The first thing Heike did when he came to the house was to take a bomb in the pool. Guess if that was good after a long day in both plane and train!

We started in Vieux Lyon, the old town and walked from th Saint-Jean-Baptist church and the long stairs up to the Basilic.

It is the first church we have visited were we could take a lift between the floors. From this we walked to see the old theater on Fourvière Hill.

Here we could see a lot of Lyon. A beautiful city to walk in and easy to use both buses and metro.

The rivers Saône and Rhône meet in Lyon. We were a little confused when we thought we were following one river and it turned out to be the other. Part of the adventure!

Heike and Alva are in a park called Tête d'Or. A tree where the children could climb.

Here we are taking a trip in a paddleboat.

My favourite possition. The pool was the very best place to stay on hot days like them we had this summer.

A seldom picture where we all are present. We are so happy that all our children could join us in Lyon this summer. Ina's boyfriend Rune fell in love with the french cooking, especially to have the chance to cook in our own house.

Many evenings we cooled down in the pool before going to bed, it's easier to fall asleep then.

Rune is wondering which redwine to bring home. He has started collecting fine wine, and has now got his own locker with the right temperature.

Ina and Rune spent two days in la Bourdonnier, a place they produce wine and host guests. The place is north west of Lyon, and worth a visit. Ina and Rune found it to be the best days this summer.

Here we are in Annecy, north east of Lyon. We stopped here for a swim and continued over the mountains towards Albertville. Fantastic scenery!

Alva and Anne in Disneyland. The two last days of our holiday were spent in Paris, one of them i Eurodisney. It was a day where everybody seemed to have the same idea! It was crowded! The most important thing was to always see eachother or have a place to meet.

Alva, Heike and Silje bought some Disney- effects to bring back home. We stayed in the park till 23.00 before we went back to the hotel.

The street behind us has a lot of things to offer. We prefer just to have the experience by being there. We watched parades, shows, High School Musical and Winnie the Pooh, and we had many "kicks" from exciting things too.

Our holiday continued after returning to Løkta.

The family Franchini from Lyon kept us companied for a few days before returning to France.

We keep very good memories from these days, and hope to see them again some day.
