Somerton- England 1998

Our second exchange was in Somerton in the south-west of England. It was a very nice town with many old buildings. Since we in Norway usually build our house of wood, it was nice to see all the houses made out of bricks.
The house had a big garden for the youngest to play in. Here were also bikes that we could use to move around. Especially the first days were difficult because, the English are driving on the wrong side of the road???
We had hoped to come in contact with some people and asked the one we exchanged with, Andy and Val Miller, if anyone was interested. We were very lucky. Sue and Ali and their boys Ben and James made this a wonderful holiday for all of us.
They showed us beautiful places and buildings. They took us to places with no tourists. And perhaps best of all: They supported Manchester United. Ina, Pia and Marius got a Manchester United shirt each from them as a gift. The shirt gives them their best memories about a fantastic summer together with some fantastic people.
We don't know if Somerton is a special place. We were invited to many homes in the town, and had some beautiful days. We hope to meet them all again one day.One thing is sure. We will go back to England again.
