Six-Fours-les-Plages, France 2008
| Summer 2008 we went to one of the most
beautiful places in France, Six-fours-les-Plages not far
from Toulon. We met the Cardon family at the airport in
Nice. We were eight people travelling together, Elise, Eskil, Silje, Pia, Ester, Einar, Anne & Odd Arne. We lived in a house that made us feel like kings and queens with a pool just a step outside our bedroom door. And 700 meters from the house were wonderful beaches with restaurants and bakeries. What more can a man want? If we have a possibility we really would like to go back there one day. |
| We often went out to eat. One day Odd
Arne went by bike to Toulon and the rest of us took the
bus. We met at the quay and had huge icecreams. Other times we walked near the house and stopped to eat at the beach. The temperatures this summer was mostly between 32- 35. The best time to go out to eat was in the evening when it was around 30. |
| One of the top ten favourites to do when we are in France is to walk to the nearest "boulangerie" and buy fresh bread for breakfast and lunch. Baguettes with french cheese is the best in the whole world. |
| Provence offers all you can imagine of
experiences in the nature. The seaside is marvellous. We
found small beaches to be on our own, others with more
people where we had to climb down to go swimming and lots
of paths to walk and enjoy the view. We had a long drive up to Gorges du Verdon. It is Europe's Grand Canyon north west of Nice. On the left we can see Elise and Eskil watching fish from a boat called Aquascope. Through the rocks Einar is stopping to enjoy the view over the Mediterrainean Sea. |
